   The 2026 regular session of the Committee on NGOs will take place from 26 January to 20 February at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. ECOSOC after 80: Strategic imperatives for the future UN80 could be an opportunity to revitalize ECOSOC and enhance the understanding of the important role of ECOSOC in the coordination of the UN system and the overall pursuit of sustainable development. This discussion could take a forward-looking approach to identify ways to heighten the impact of ECOSOC and do some early thinking on the upcoming reviews of the ECOSOC-HLPF and of ECOSOC subsidiary bodies. It serves as an entry point to all stakeholders to bring their expertise into intergovernmental discussions and ensure that global policy is rooted in realities on the ground.  The 2026 regular session of the Committee on NGOs will take place from 26 January to 20 February at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The Committee will meet again on 20 February 2026 to adopt its report of the session. New applications for consultative status and requests for reclassification The 2026 regular session is expected to consider 237 new applications for status by NGOs as well as 381 applications deferred from earlier sessions. The Committee will also review new quadrennial reports of 773 NGOs in general or special consultative status, as well as 154 quadrennial reports from 107 organizations, deferred from earlier sessions. The session's recommendations will be sent to the Economic and Social Council for its approval during the meetings of the management segment of the Council to be held from 10 to 11 June 2026.   The  Sixty-fourth session of the Commission for Social Development (CSocD) will convene  from 2 to 10 February 2026 at United Nations Headquarters in New York in Conference Room 4 , bringing together Member States, Member States, United Nations entities, civil society, and other stakeholders to advance global dialogue and action on inclusive and sustainable social development.
