The 2026 Partnership Forum of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) will be held on 27 January 2026 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York under the theme, "Transformative, equitable, innovative and coordinated actions for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals for a sustainable future for all".

Panel on SDG 17 "Three Voices, One Partnership Journey: Demonstrating the Power of Shared Solutions".
The story-driven discussion will bring together three distinct voices in a shared journey of partnership, showing how collective ownership and demand-driven collaboration can unlock lasting results and new possibilities. The Panel will spotlight three exemplary partnerships on diaspora finance, water-scarce agriculture and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), turning shared challenges into tangible progress for sustainable development.

Plenary session - The plenary session will feature statements by Member States, Observers, UN entities and stakeholders, highlighting new ideas, priorities and forward-looking actions for the Council cycle and the HLPF, while showcasing innovative partnerships to advance the 2030 Agenda. It will also provide space to share views on strengthening the Forum and ECOSOC's contributions to meaningful partnerships, in the context of the upcoming ECOSOC/HLPF review to be held alongside Member States' consideration of the UN 80 Initiative during the 80th session of the GA.Closing

The Forum will place a special emphasis on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that will be reviewed at the 2026 High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF), namely Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
The 2026 ECOSOC Partnership Forum will also provide an opportunity to share perspectives on strengthening the Forum and ECOSOC's contribution to meaningful partnerships, in the context of the upcoming review of ECOSOC and the HLPF, which will take place alongside Member States' consideration of the UN 80 Initiative during the 80th session of the General Assembly.
