Development partners meeting of the ILO Flagship Programme on Social Protection Floors.

The Development Partners meeting will provide an opportunity for the ILO and development partners to reflect on progress made and to reaffirm their commitment to collaborate under the framework of the third phase of the programme, with a view to accelerating progress towards the SDGs on social protection and beyond . Launched in 2016, the ILO's Global Flagship Programme on Building Social Protection Floors for All  supports ILO Member States in developing sustainable social protection systems, including floors. The Programme contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on social protection, particularly targets 1.3 and 3.8, through a coherent structure to mobilize resources and achieve impact. During its second phase, the Programme supported 50 priority countries, contributing to 180 institutional changes and impacting over 75 million people. The World Day of Social Justice , observed annually by the United Nations on 20 February , is a global reminder of The urgent need to build fairer, inclusive, and sustainable societies . The 2026 observance is of particular significance as it follows the Second World Summit on Social Development, held in Doha in November 2025. In this context this 60-minute online event seeks to carry forward the momentum generated by the adoption of the Doha Political Declaration by reaffirming social justice as a shared global priority. The event will provide a timely opportunity to underscore the urgency of translating political commitments into meaningful action. Serving as a moment of reflection and a call to action , the event will advocate for sustained engagement by governments, social partners, and key stakeholders to advance the commitments outlined in the Political Declaration and through the implementation of the Coalition's Key Interventions .
